A Harley Street establishment, Focus Clinics have a stable of world-renowned experts in laser eye surgery. The clinic traces its beginnings to November 2002 when chief surgeon David Allamby opened his laser eye surgery practice. In this clinic, he performed the UK’s first surgical procedure for presbyopia (the age-related need for reading glasses) using his unique Z-Lasik Blended Vision procedure in January 2003. Due to his exemplary work in laser eye surgery and pioneering treatment for presbyopia, demand for his services grew, leading him to set up consulting and treatment rooms in London. By 2005, Focus Clinics had become well-established on Harley Street, focusing on its single office in the UK.
Treatments and Technology
Focus specialises in treating short-sightedness, far-sightedness, astigmatism and in reading vision correction. Because its surgeons do not serve as consultants to laser companies, the clinic has the freedom to choose lasers from different providers. The surgeons have designed a unique treatment which they call Z-LASIK. This technology combines two lasers: Wavelight Allegretto Eye-Q and the Swiss-made Ziemer LDV femtosecond laser.
Focus offers the following treatments:
- Z-LASIK technology is used for treating nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.
- Z-LASIK Blended Vision is used for treating presbyopia.
- Refractive lens exchange (RLE) removes the lens and replaces it with a specially designed implant to correct the prescription. RLE is an alternative to laser surgery when the refractive error is too high or too complex to treat with laser.
- PRK/LASEK procedure is used for treating short-sightedness and mild degrees of hyperopia (farsightedness) and astigmatism.
Here’s the current pricing plan for Focus Clinics:
